The 'Shop' ness monster!

One of the most disturbing drawbacks of being a compulsive shopper is the tragedy that befalls them when they need to move! Suffering from this modern-age ailment myself no one can understand this better than me.

Now that I am done with my 2 years of MBA in pune and need to pack my bags and move, I realize the enormity of the situation. The monster (and I am not referring to myself) I have created in these 2 years has reared its ugly head n one huge head it is..

We dun have a third room mate in our three seater room but no one believes it because the third closet is full of clothes and bags and the third bed is full of...well clothes and bags. Before the naive reader forms an opinion that I am some kind of sick clothes & bags freak, let me clarify, shoes are strewn all across the floor, so much so that the house cleanin staff thinks that there are 10 of us living in the room and the cosmetics fill the drawers and study tables.

The situation is so bad that if I buy more stuff i'd ve to nail it to the ceiling but NO that's not goning to deter me from shoppin...no no Sir I wudnt have any of those lame ass excuses about space constraint in the room.

I still remember when I landed in Pune I had 11 pieces of luggage and how I would fake embaressement when people would say "(with eyes wide open)... This is for 1 person!!!" (when actually there was a perverse sense of pleasure that I derived from the reaction)
(My roomy got the same reaction but it was more because she had only one bag when she came, making the contrast even more glaring).

Like everythin else there are advantages of this sickness whenever I need to reject a prospective guy I tell him that "it's not him it's me...I am high maintenance, and so we wouldn't get along (in the process of doin this I totally show him what I think of him ..a cheapskate)"...actually there is just one adavantage of this and this was it!!

I knew the sickness had gone too far when my last trip to the city was for buying gifts for 3 of my friends whom we hadn't gifted on their respective birthdays and I ended up shoppin more for myself. Let me elaborate.. we went to three 3 different shops- Woodland,Wrangler and Adidas. So now I ve a sweater from Woodland, a pull over from Wrangler and a sports bag from Adidas also from the same trip I have a jacket from Lee.
Not that I need these things but I just need these things !!!!

  1. I think it is more of a custom to post a comment on a 'friend's' blog... So here it is...This woman here should be ashamed to even mention a phrase like 'naive reader forms an opinion that im a clothes n bags freak', because that is what the author solely is!!! I would use this opportunity to inform the readers that Madame Kashmo spends more than the per capita income of the nation, and probably more than the GDPs of several African countries... Anyways....lest we get carried away... Well written and brilliantly analyzed piece of self psychology...
